How a scheduling program changed the way I do business and saved me hours of emailing

Running an international business means a lot of time on the phone and hosting meetings via my computer screen. I used to spend hours going back and forth on emails or playing phone tag with potential clients trying to set up a meeting time, until earlier this year I was introduced to my new best friend – Calendly.

Calendly is an online appointment scheduling program that integrates with your existing email account to allow potential clients to view your availability and lock in a time to catch up. This is how it works:

  1. 1. You set up an account, it’s free.
  2. 2. Let Calendly know your availability.
  3. 3. Send a Calendly link via email or embed it on your website.

And for all your potential clients:

  1.  1. Click on the Calendly link you have supplied to them.
  2.  2. They pick a time and the event is added to your calendar.

It is really that simple. Being a bit of a tech luddite, I had a few questions when I first started using Calendly and to help convince you, I thought I would answer these for you too.

Q.Does it detect time zones?

A.Yes! There is seamless time zone detection for your invitees so everyone is on the same page when booking a time to catch up.

Q.Does it sync with Xplan?

A.Yes! You can sync it directly with Xplan so you don’t have to spend any time ensuring all your bookings are synced. Because there are various versions of Xplan available, it would be best to check directly with your Xplan support team on how to link the two.
